Getting locked out of your account due to 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) issues can be frustrating—especially when you're trying to stay on top of your hiring process. This guide walks you through common problems and practical solutions to help you log in smoothly and securely.

Common Issues and Solutions

I can’t get past the ‘Continue’ screen

  • Problem: After entering your username and password, you’re prompted to choose your authentication method (email or text). But when you click the ‘Continue’ button, nothing happens.

  • Solution: Clear your browser cache (no need to clear cookies or history). After that, open a new tab and try again. You should now be able to proceed past the ‘Continue’ button. Here’s our help center article on clearing your cache.

I’m not receiving the authentication code in my email inbox

  • Problem: You’ve selected email authentication, but the 4-digit code never arrives.

  • Search your inbox for the subject line “Your Account Verification Code”.

  • If you still don’t see it, check your spam or junk folder.

  • Still can’t find it? Your company’s firewall may be blocking the message. In that case, ask your IT team to whitelist idealtraits.com.

I want to receive the authentication code via text instead of email

  • You can switch to receiving the authentication code via text message. To do this:

    1. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of your dashboard.

    2. Select Account Settings.

    3. Scroll to the bottom and add your mobile number under the authentication preferences.

I don’t want my employees to contact me every time they need a login code

  • Problem: Your team members are using your account and need to reach out to you for the 2FA code each time they log in.

  • Solution: Create separate user logins for your employees. This way, the authentication code is sent directly to their email or phone, not yours.

  • Check out this Help Center article on adding additional users.

I don’t want to receive a code every time I log in

  • Problem: You're being prompted for a 2FA code with every login.

  • Solution: Check the ‘Remember Me’ box when entering your credentials. This tells the system to remember your device for 30 days, so you won’t need to enter a code each time you log in.

2-Factor Authentication is designed to keep your account secure, but occasional hiccups can make logging in more difficult than it needs to be. Whether you're stuck at the login screen, missing a verification code, or want to simplify access for your team, the steps above will help you quickly resolve the issue. From clearing your cache to setting up text notifications or additional users, you're now equipped to troubleshoot and get back to hiring without delays. Need more help?
