The Indeed Candidate Sync integration automatically delivers candidates from Indeed's Smart Sourcing network directly into IdealTraits. No manual exporting, importing, or copy-pasting required. Once a candidate is synced, they appear in your pipeline just like any other candidate.
What It Does
When a candidate responds with interest to your Indeed Smart Sourcing outreach, IdealTraits automatically retrieves them and adds them to your account. Syncing happens every 10 minutes with no action required on your end.
How a candidate ends up in IdealTraits
Three conditions must be true for a candidate to sync:
You have an active Indeed Professional Smart Sourcing subscription.
The job posting is connected to Indeed via the IdealTraits API. Jobs posted directly on Indeed outside of IdealTraits will not trigger the sync.
The candidate responds positively to your outreach. Only candidates who reply with interest are returned. Non-responders and declines do not come through.
Note: If candidates aren't syncing, the first things to check are whether you have an active Professional Smart Sourcing subscription and whether the job posting is API-connected through IdealTraits.
Connecting to Candidate Sync
Follow these five steps inside your IdealTraits account to connect the integration.
Step 1. Navigate to Marketplace
In the top navigation bar, click the Marketplace (storefront) icon.
Step 2. Select Indeed
In the Categories list on the left, select Indeed.
Step 3. Click Connect Indeed Account
Click the Connect Indeed Account button to begin the OAuth process. This integration requires Administrator-level Indeed credentials and an active Professional Smart Sourcing subscription.
Step 4. Choose an employer account
After logging in to Indeed, select your employer account and click Continue.
Step 5. Confirm a successful connection
When the connection succeeds, a confirmation message appears: "Candidate Sync enabled successfully." Candidates will begin syncing every 10 minutes automatically.
Managing the Integration
Once connected, you can pause or end the integration at any time from the Indeed page in your Marketplace.
Disable
Pauses the sync temporarily without terminating the connection. Click the Disable link in the Actions column.
Disconnect from Indeed
This terminates the connection altogether. Click the Disconnect from Indeed button at the bottom of the integration panel.
Note: Whether the integration is disabled or disconnected, any candidates that have already been retrieved will remain in your IdealTraits account.
Where Synced Candidates Land
Once the integration is active and candidates begin flowing in, here's what to expect.
Stage: Synced candidates are added directly to the Candidate stage in your pipeline.
Assessments: They are not placed into any assessment automatically.
Workflow automation: They are not enrolled in any automated workflow.
Important: Candidates from Indeed Candidate Sync land in the Candidate stage but bypass assessments and workflow automation. Any further routing is a manual step from there.
